West Point Dec 17th/67
Maj. Genl Wager Swayne
Dear Sir.
Will you be so kind as to see Rev. C.W. Buckley for me and state to him that I say that I have written to him until I have become worried and ashamed & that He has failed to send me all of my school money. he sent me 2 vouchers during the first part of the year with a stated salary of fifty dollars as though that was my wages for teaching. Rev. J.H. Caldwell noticed them & spoke of them at the time. all the Balance sent was $75.00 which was the wages agreed to and which has been paid all but the fifty Dollars on those 2 vouchers which is yet unpaid. he must have made the mistake in regard to those 2 vouchers. I have all the money envelopes that he has ever sent me and they will show $348.15 has been paid. besides the Broken month of Feb 1 for which the first envelope contained $24.80 making in all the said sum of $348.15 cts and as I continued my school until the 6th of Aug. though I charge nothing for those 6 days. I contend that Mr Buckley is due me $51.65 cts. please ask him to attend and Obg.
