Sickness has greatly disturbed the progress of the School during the last three months but it may be interesting to you to know the progress of the school during the first three months.

In Primary Studies
Scholars Enrolled 205
There were in Abs. (195) are now (10)
One scholar who was in the Abs. is now in 3rd Reader
Two scholars who were in the Abs. are now in 2nd Reader
Fifty (50) scholars have been advanced to intermediate studies.

In Intermediate Studies
There were (4) in Writing are now (100)
There were (5) in Arith. are now (100)
There were (6) in Geog. are now (10)
There were (1) in 4 Reader are now (11)
(22) has been advanced to the 2nd Reader
(15) has been advanced to the 3rd Reader

In regard to the Whites I believe I have so revolutionized their habits of treatment toward the Freedmen by my stearn conduct in which I periled my life in the issues for right that it will leave a lasting improvement upon this country.

When I came, the jail was dily draged full of Freedmen condemned by no greater crime than that they were out of employment or that some one owed the a spite - and in three week the chief of police acknowledge that he was compeled to resort to the fishing line to get bread.
