Dear Sir.
My ideas of the rise of questions to be referred to you were not mistaken-
I find that, to all appearances, however, things are in a prospering condition in this place- And so far as I have been able yet to discern, I am grateful for having been sent here-

My first impressions are good- But Sir- I feel my self almost incompetent to the task before me- The amount of labor to be performed can not be estimated

The Freedmen here have succeeded in putting up a building with a room 40x20- and will have it so that I can organize
