In the mean time I am becoming acquainted with the Negroes, which I find is a very easy matter, and visiting schools.-

The Negros expect to pay for their Building by a tax upon each scholar amounting to 50c. per month till the building is completed & paid for. They can not do it all at once - but piecemeal as the money is raised.

They will be able to buy all their books - and I ask permission of you to use such funds as shall be necessary to secure them books and pay for their building I have made arrangements with
