[[stamp]] THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES [[/stamp]]
Mr. C. W. Buckley is hereby appointed [[strikethrough]] a [[/strikethrough]] Supt of Education in Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, State of Alabama at a salary of one hundred and fifty dollars per month.
This appointment is made under the provisions of "An Act to continue in force and amend an Act to establish a Bureau for the relief of Freedmen and Refugees, and for other purposes." It will take effect December 7, 1867 and remain in force until revoked by order from this Office. 
The oath required by law will be taken, and filed in the office of the Asst Commissioner of the State of Alabama.
