Sir.  I have lately received a letter from E.C. Branch, Supt of Schools and Agt of A.M. Association, Mobile, Ala. in which he informs me that some Ward School Houses are to be built at Mobile for the Freedmen, probably of a cheap character, but which he desires to have arranged with an eye to convenience, and he says furthermore that a central High school building is to be built, and from what he writes I infer that he would like to have my aid in designing them, and asks that I shall open correspondence with you in reference to the matter. I have refered the matter to the Rev. J.R Shipherd Sec'y of the A.M.A. located here, and he also
