I feel very anxious that this school should do well and prove a blessing to to the rising generation, and if managed and conducted properly it will accomplish the benevolent intentions of congress. Living as I do near the school & it being very much under my own observation it would be well for you to give me positive instructions and power to control the school and teachers in all respects.

The twenty dollars due me for the rent of the house for the months of March and April should have been paid before this, and and I would suggest to you not only the necessity of the rent being paid promptly but the propriety of making these payments in advance  Let me say to you that your teacher is perfectly dependent on his pay for a support which will suggest to you the necessity and justice of prompt pay. At his suggestion I bring this matter to your notice. I have at his request promised to aid him by my advice or otherwise in all matters connected with the school. You will I hope send me by Express or by mail
