Yours of the 17th inst. is received. Before its reception we had just sent off. for your service, two teachers- Mr. Whipple and Miss Wanzer who will report to you on their arrival. We had others preparing to go, but have countermanded the order for such preparation, and will send no more.

Mr. Whipple is a graduate of Dartmouth College and a first class teacher. Miss Wanzer is a teacher of long experience, and of fine character as a lady. I was deceived into commissioning and sending Mr. Gaylor, and
