Capt Buckley

Sir, I would like to know if you expect for me to commence my school the first of next month. If so: I would like to know immediately so I could have a house built as Mr Barnett has the one in use that I had last time. Also to have [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] benches and tables sufficient for the pupils as I was quite crowded last term. The freedmen asked me would I take it again. I told them that I could not tell them untill I heard from you. So: I wish you would let me know immediately so I can inform them. As I am willing to take it if you will allow it to me

I would like for you to let me know by the bearer of this
And oblige
J. G. Shelman
