Bureau would continue to pay the rent of the sch. House there, but a hitch in the arrangements seems to have occurred, & it now looks doubtful whether Miss Lyon will go there or whether we shall to on there. If we do not she will remain at Nashville & we shall probably do more at Florence than we could otherwise have done. Miss Hindman, altho' we offered her perhaps a third more than we were giving any man or woman in our employ, made demands on us, & insisted on conditions with which we could not comply & over which we had no control, and yet I think she was really desirous to go back & perhaps would have been willing & glad to accept our offer - but things had got into such a shape we could not well renew it - having arranged to send Miss Lyon one of our very best teachers. How much she had to do with the difficulties that arose in Miss Lyon's way or whether she had anything I cant say - as I could not hear from you or from Gen Callis - & as Miss Hindman had applied to Dr. Rust of the Methodist Commission and as Miss Lyon apprehended
