Dear Sir:
A movement has originated in Pittsburg Pa. looking to the establishment of a Normal Institute at this point. Of course the matter is not yet finally settled, but I thought it proper to address you with reference to it.
The Executors of Mr. Chas. Avery, (deceased), with whose history you are no doubt familiar, are seriously contemplating establishing a Normal School at Florence. They do not feel that they can advance all the means necessary, but, I have no doubt, would be willing to advance a considerable amount.  While I have had considerable correspondence with their representative, still I am not fully warranted in stating the exact amt, of aid we could hope for from
