But my dear Sir in candure I must assure you, that the single article of board without washing or lights costs me more than fifty dollars per. month, and my School is the only source of income that I have.  It is true that the Conf. appointed me to take the pastorial charge of the Col. people in the Auburn Cir. and I have three appointments which I attend at one or the other every Sabbath, but I assure you that up to this time, they have not given me one cent, and I know not whither they will or not

But to the point, I am now engaged in the school, my heart is engaged in the work, and I  see no open door in any other direction for me to get even a bare support, if the decree has irrevocably gone forth that my salary must be reduced, all that I can say is, Thy will, not mine, be done, I must submit, I have always acted on the principle that a half
