The freedmen for pay - They ignored my night school and refused payment for the day scholars. This left me without a support or the hopes of one In addition to this I am robed of All my Clothing. Capt I am here a helpless & friendless woman far from kindred and without a means to get home to them. Up to this time I have had no transportation, and Capt Buckley will tetafy that the government still owes me $40.00 promised by him ==

With this statement I respectfully submit the above application hoping I will find you willing to relieve the sufferings of a female - who can furnish the best testimony that she has served the freedmen in good faith - and in their success spent all of her means - Without this transportation Capt I am in a friendless condition too far from friends & kindred to hope for relief Respectfully
