Since the close of the war very little State money has been used for Schools in the county.  In consequence of which, there is in the Treasury & [[strikeout]] and [[/strikeout]] in the hands of the former Superintendent and Trustees a considerable amt. of money belonging to the County.  I desire to start several schools for Freedmen and can get good teachers provided [[strikeout]] I can [[/strikeout]] they can be payed in part or all out of this fund. We have a very good county Supt. who will act in concert with me, but as yet he has no instructions.  Please inform me if Trustees are
