Sir, When I came here last Autumn Mr. Cravath of Cincinnati wrote me that he would commission me and that would entitle me to transportation. After I arrived here I was under the commission of the A.M.A., although I am not now, through the influence of an enemy; but have not received my transportation. I explained it to Mr. Langston when he was here and he said I was entitled to it and I ought to have it. He said you could attain it for me by application to Gen. Howard.
