R. D. Harper
Supt of Education

Sir

Miss E. S. Thompson called upon me with the enclosed papers, and stated that she has been teaching the Colored school for the last year, expecting to receive the sum of twenty five ($25) dollars per month as per instructions of C.W. Buckley, late Supt of Education; that she repeatedly called upon Mr. J.F. McGogy for assistance, and that he has not taken any notice of her application

The reports of the school taught by Miss Thompson, now in this office, show an average attendance of sixty nine Pupils per month.

I would respectfully invite attention to the enclosed endorsement of C.W. Buckley, Supt of Education, dated Hd Qrs. Dist of Ala Montgomery Ala August 29th 1868.
