Dr. Sir:-
According to promise I send you the names of some of the principal Aid Societies of the North, with names of their officers. I send the printed list of two of them, and will give others below:

Freedmen's Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Ch-
J.M. Walden D.D. Cor. Secy.; R.S. Rent, D.D. Gen. Field Supt. Office - Corner Eight & Main Sts Cincinnati, Ohio-

Freedmen's Union Commission, Purdyman Abbott, Secy. New York-

These are the principal Societies. There are several Societies of the Friends and of the United Presb. Ch- I do not know their address as they have not been working in this state at all. There are also several small societies doing a local work mostly.

I include a circular giving our plan of securing teachers reports; also others. I shall be very glad to give any information in my power at any time, & shall hope to hear from you often.
