Demopolis Ala March 30th 1869 Brevt Lieut Colo Edwin Beecher Sup't Ed'n B R F & A L. Montgomery, Alabama [[stamp]] THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES [[/stamp]] Colo. Enclosed please find vouchers and reports for rents due and reports of schools No. 2, now being taught in this place. I have received your vouchers (blanks) Also letter virtually declining to allow me anything whatever for my school. I deem it futile to make any other move for aid and will rest the case with you. I will not for my school make any formal report, but have the honor to state that my school No. 1, for this month foots up to one Hundred & fifteen pupils from a latin class down & with a strong attendance of one hundred daily. Hoping that the papers will meet with your approval & of soon hearing from you I remain Colo your Obedient Servant &c Jno T. Coleman Teacher School No. 1, Demopolis Ala.
