Mobile, Dec. 2nd 1869.

Mr. Beecher:

Dear Sir:
I did not make out the Oct. report at the regular time, as Mr. Putnam had no blanks. And I left it to him to secure them.

The number of teachers is larger for Nov., as we have two additional lady teachers, and I have taught on four days each week.

The scholars rather pleasantly disappoint me. Mr. Ralph Emerson of Rockford, Ill., had given me a quite sober impression of them.

Yours &c.
J. Kimball.

P.S. The probable reason that a less no. appear as punctual for Nov., than for Oct., is that I have arranged a system of tickets for the tardy ones so that they have to see me before going to the school rooms. This renders the teachers more accurate More than half of my teachers are no more exact, than they should be, but they are improving nicely
Yrs J.K.
