Sparta Ala May the 7th 1870

Dear Sir & bro. yours of the 4th instant is at hand In reply we would inform you with pleasure as far as possible. 

1st The Normal school at Sparta repaired by aid from is owned by the Freedmen Leased to them in the hands of trusstees as per copy of deed send to you.
2 the house is a wood from building
3 it is 48 by 32 feet.
4 Is estimated by us as worth at least 8000$  eight hundred or a Thousand dollars.
4 Lot worth say 50$.
The school house in J5 R12 when Mr McGraw Taught, was build by the Freedmen themselves for school purposes of Logs 20 by 30 feet worth 40 or 50 dollars. The land is public. belonging to the U.S. 
The school house when Miss. A. E. Mcgraw in J6 R12 was also build by the freedman for school & church purposes on land belonging to a freedman about 20 by 30 feet worth about 60 dollars
