8  No Teachers engaged that I am notified of.

9  From expressions made by Freedmen of various localities, should think that they would pay one third of tuition.

10  No School Houses built expressly for use of the Freedmen.

11  Suitable buildings could be rented at nearly all the points where Schools would be located.

12  The Freedmen show a decided disposition to secure an education for their children but are at a loss to know how to organize and commence the work.

13  The col'd people are not at present capacitated to conduct the work of education themselves and could only sustain it to the amount set forth in answer to question No 9.

14  By the appointment of an efficient Superintendent for this Sub District who is thoroughly acquainted with the different localities and the present needs of the Freedmen in point of education and who would keep the organization of the Schools complete.

15  No Benevolent Associations in operation in this Sub District.
