I certify that I performed the above journey for the purpose of entering upon my duties as a Teacher in Freedmen's Schools at Montgomery in the State of Alabama in accordance with the terms of my commission.

Chamberlin duly commissioned by A.M.A. Society has been transported from his home in Oberlin, Ala. to Montgomery Ala where he is now employed as a teacher for Freedmen at an actual cost for transportation-fares, procured at the lowest rates, and by the shortest practicable route at a cost of forty-seven 50/100 dollars ($47 50/100).
