Biography of Leandra Strobing

Leandra Strobing graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle in 1971 with a BA in Art. She finished her M.A. in TV/Radio in 1977 at Brooklyn College. While completing her Master's thesis she worked as an intern for WNET/13 on The MacNeil/Lehrer Report doing background story research, production work, and rating and share studies. After her graduate studies she began working for Global Village Independent Video as Associate Coordinator of their fall Community Workshop series. She continues her association with Global Village as contributing editor of their quarterly magazine Videoscope. She has also been published in Television Quarterly. She is the Associate Administrator of the Artists Television Network and Director of the Research and Development Project (funded by the NEA). In addition to her duties at ATN, she is Associate Producer of a health documentary and co-recipient of an Artist-in-Residence award from WXXI public television in Rochester, New York. Her most recent work, FACADE will be exhibited at the Global Village Documentary Festival on June 2nd.
