SOHO TELEVISION CELEBRATES THE PREMIERE OF THE SECOND SEASON

Soho Television, a project of the Artists Television Network, will begin its second season December 4th at 8 PM on Manhattan cable TV Channel 10 and Teleprompter Cable TV Channel 10.
The first show of the new season will be John Cage's "36 MESOSTICS RE AND NOT RE DUCHAMP". Cage says "My first Mesostic was written as prose to celebrate one of Edwin Denby's birthdays. The following Mesostics, each letter of the name being on its own line, were written as poetry. ...I thought that I was writing acrostics, but Norman O. Brown pointed out they could properly be called Mesostics (A row down the middle rather than down the end)."
Cage is "acknowledged as probably the most influential com-poser of his generation, whose compositions are vehicles for his philosophical vision. Of broader import, he is recognized, as well, as a sophisticated and witty personality with a clearly visible hand in the entire mixed-media art scene of today.
Future programs will include among others "FRANKIE TEARDROP", a production of Ghost Films; "CITY ARCHIVES", written and directed by Richard Foreman; and "AVAILABLE LIGHT" by David Rose.
During the weeks of December4-23rd Soho Television will pre-sent at The Kitchen, 484 Broome St., NYC a selection of programs from the first season and a preview of program to be cablecast during the new season. It's a good opportunity for those who don't have cable TV to come and see the programs.
Soho Television is supported in part by a grant from The National Endowment For The Arts. For further information call 254-4978.
