ROAD

black and white videotape, 20 minutes, sound, produced with the cooperation of the Akron Art Institute, Akron, Ohio, 1972.

The camera moves slowly along a road focused directly on the two center dividing lines. The illusion of depth is eliminated as the two white lines move continuously as two lines become an autonomous image, independent of the actual road, and yet the sound and variation of textures are reminiscent of an actual journey.
