Dear Mel,

I am assuming that by now our director, Laurence Miller, has spoken with you about the changes we have had to make in the number of pieces we will be able to include in your exhibition here at the Museum. We were unfortunately unable to find an alternate site to display a portion of the show, so we have had to delete a few works from the original checklist I had sent you. Enclosed you will find a revised checklist with the pieces that we would like to borrow at this time. We will now be showing 20 works rather than 30, as previously intended. However, as I'm sure Laurence has explained to you, Centro Cultural de la Rasa in San Diego is very interested in having the show. If we can work it out, we would like to, at a later date, borrow the pieces we had to delete to send to them. But at this time, we will only be picking up the works on the enclosed checklist. San Diego will be making a decision on August 18 and we will let you know one way or the other about that. We would need to pick the other pieces up at a later date if all works out.

It is unfortunate that we were unable to find an alternate location but you can rest assured that your show will be splendid regardless. Everything is proceeding along smoothly. The billboards are in progress. We hope to have them installed by mid-August. I should be seeing the boards for the catalog any day now. The poster is taking shape and the invite will be ready to be mailed out by August 18 or so. Again, the opening will be on September 10 to avoid Labor Day weekend.

As I mentioned before, I hope that you will be able to have the works we need from you ready to be loaded up when the guys get there. I believe they will be picking up in San Antonio from you and Tom Willome the morning of Wednesday, August 31 for delivery here to the Museum that afternoon. Because of the difficulty in packing of our current show, we will only have 2 1/2 days to install your show. This means that time will be very tight and we cannot afford to get the work here any later than that afternoon. I would greatly appreciate anything you can do to make things proceed quickly when they arrive. I will be talking with you soon to get pick-up addresses, etc. If there is any problem with any of these arrangements, please let me know as soon as possible so I can rearrange this schedule if need be.

I think that's it for now. I hope all is going smoothly for you and appreciate your patience with all of this. Did you get moved alright?

Just spoke with Laurence. He said he has been unable to reach you yet but will redouble his efforts.

Sincerely,

Debbie
