Dear Mr. Casas:

The Bronx Museum of the Arts is pleased to announce that on Thursday, September 29, 1988, a dream will come true ... the long-awaited completion of the newly renovated Bronx Museum of the Arts.

For the past five years the Museum has been undergoing a major capital renovation project to turn the former Synagogue of Young Israel on the Grand Concourse into a major cultural center center of the borough. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 29th will herald the coming of age of the institutions and will send a signal that The Bronx is a borough rich in resources and abundant with those committed to making things happen!

We invite you to be a part of this celebration, which is marked by the opening of a major inaugural exhibition entitled, The Latin American Spirit: Art and Artists in the United States, 1920-1970, which will travel nationally and is supported by Philip Morris Companies Inc.

We look forward to your participation in the opening day festivities now being planned, and ask that you mark your calendar for September 29th a formal invitation will be sent in the near future outlining details of the day's event.

Sincerely,
Luis R Cancel
