The Latin American Spirit: Art and Artists in the United States, 1920-1970 explores new ground. It presents an enormous body of creative work that invites reconsideration of the contributions Latin American art has made to the cultural life of the United States.

The exhibition features 160 paintings, sculptures and works on paper by more than 118 artists whose activities have, to some degree, been conducted in the United States. The artists represent 14 Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries of Central America, South America and the Caribbean, as well as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Organized by The Bronx Museum of the Arts and sponsored by Philip Morris Companies Inc. The El Paso presentation of this exhibition has been made possible through the generous support of the El Paso Art Museum Association Members Guild.
