Local Artist wins contes

Judges Sofia Gonzalez-Perez, Mel Casas and Dolores Taboada evaluate the Conjunto Poster Contest entries at the Guadalupe Theater.  Local artist Jesse Almazan won first place and $1,900 Saturday.  The ninth annual Tejano Conjunto Festival, which will be held in May, celebrates Conjunto music.  The poster contest was a visual interpretation of the music.
