A series of free programs developed at the Bazan Library 225-1614, throughout the duration of the exhibit. Wednesday, June 23 at 10 a.m./ Saturday, July 17 at 10;00 a.m./ Tuesday, July 20 at 10 a.m. Call for information.

A festive family day to be held at Benavides Park near Brewer Elementary. Community Cultural Arts Organization mural artists (now uder the Department of Arts & Recreation) will work with the musejm's education staff to develop a mural project and other hands-on artistic activities. Musical entertainment is also planned for this special day, June 26, 1993, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.. Call 978-8129 for more information.

On Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm & Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m., noted Mexican American leaders in the arts, education and politics will be guest speakers and presenters (i.e. performance artists) throughout the duration of the exhibit, offering their own unique views and experiences about their work in relation to CARA. (All of June and July, see page 10)

An exhibit of local and regional Chicano painters not represented in CARA< to be shown at the Juan Rulfo Gallery at Hemisfair Plaza in conjunction with the Instituto Cultural Mexicano. Benito Huerta, Diana Cardenas, Jose Treviño, Leticia Huerta, Ramón Vasquez y Shanchez among others. Opening, May 20, 6 - 8 p.m. Runs through June 13.

Family Day Celebration at the Plaza Guadalupe, showcasing the talents of the Guadalupe Arts staff, several local bands and the G.C.A.C's resident dance company.Activities include a student art exhibit, papel picado and painting demonstrations, poetry readings, festive music and dance performances. Sunday, June 13, 12 noon-5 p.m.

"Mystical Elements/Lyrical Imagery", (36 drawings /ballpoint pen on paper and cardboard). This exhibit will coincide with a city-wide observance of CARA and the 25th anniversary of Hemisfair. Lower Gallery: May 11 - July 25, 1993.

15 minute slide show documenting murals painted before the mid 1980's. Researched by U.T. historian, Dr. Ricardo Romo, the multi-media presentation focuses on mural structures from San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, and Houston. Presented daily in the Dome Theater aat 12:00 noon and 2:15 p.m., May 11 through June 30, 1993.
