Dear Mayor Dixon,

I am writing in support of Luis Rumbaut's candidacy for the position of Director of the Office of Latino Affairs. I am a Uruguyan artist who has been living in Washington for the last 10 years. I have received 2 fellowships from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and have been active in the Latino community. Over this period I have known Mr. Rumbaut to be involved with issues of importance to the community. He is a man of great integrity, honesty and commitment. I believe he is conscientious and hard working and would represent well your intent to "clean house".

Mr. Rumbaut's appointment as the Director of the Office of Latino Affairs would be welcome news to the Latino community. We could look forward to the prospect of innovative ideas, good management and fair administration of the city's progress.

I appreciate your serious consideration of his candidacy and wish you all the best in the challenge you have undertaken.

Sincerely,

Naul Ojeda
