THE WHITE HOUSE

June 2, 1992

Dear Friends,

Thank you all for coming together to celebrate the 18th anniversary of our Spanish Senior Center. We can all be proud and grateful that the Educational Organization for United Latin Americans created this splendid center, which remains Washington's only full service facility for the Hispanic elderly.

I salute the wonderful EOFULA volunteers who work so hard to help the Center meet so many of the varied needs of clients, and I especially applaud your efforts to strengthen the links between the generations. Community groups like EOFULA deserve all our praise and support for taking such positive action and building bridges between community residents of all backgrounds and ages.

Thank you all for cherishing our Hispanic senior citizens in such rich and special ways. You are setting a vital example of the volunteer spirit that has made our country strong, and we are truly grateful.

With all our best wishes for a splendid evening.

Warmly,

Barbara Bush
