Dear Mr. Ojeda:

Larry Birns kindly allowed me to go through the photos of Chile you left with him. I asked to use one of them for an illustration in a book I am publishing. (They are all quite remarkable, but I needed the one of the peasant's funeral, dated 1972.)

I hope you would be willing to release the photo for reprint. Since I brought a few others at the Center for Cuban Studies for $20 each, perhaps you will consider this a fair price, with a credit of course.

The book is to be entitled Latin America, The Struggle Against Poverty, to be published by MacMillan. The rights you would grant are non-exclusive world rights. If you do agree, then this letter can constitute a letter of agreement, you can sign below and return it to me.

Larry told me that you would like to have the entire set published in a study of the Chilean golpe. I hope that you find a publisher, and I shall certainly advise others of your photos.

Best Wishes,
