most interesting. Last night we went to Mr. Chovan's (the art dealer) for dinner. It was a very long dinner and to me very tiresome, especially as I could not say more than two words. Mrs. Chovan told me of a dressmaker where I can have some waists made and not pay such a high price. The tailor wants $18 for a simple waist. Bonny feels "done up"[[underline]] this morning on account of the dinner he ate last night and I don't wonder for we had every kind of a thing to eat commencing with sausage and ending with champagne and the richest kind of cake and cheese. I did not eat much so feel quite well this morning. I hope we will not have to go to any more dinners. I do not think we will be here more than a week longer, ten days at the most, and I believe we will be starting for home by November
