Mamma dearest

Here we are and all going finely; We have the best stateroom we have ever had - a bureau with drawers and a brass bed and a wooden one - all decorated up too fine for words, a clock and full length mirror. The Captain greeted us as we came up the gangplank and we left everything all right at the apartment. I received a nice letter from you just before I left and I am glad to know that you received the checks. It is as hot as smoke and today is going to be a scorcher as we are getting away none too soon. you don't know how hot it is where you are and I am glad of it. They are beginning to ring the bells as I need hurry now
