Lulette dearest,

It is just darling of you to ask me to come to you this winter and I should certainly love to, but when I found that the trip to S. America was off, I plunged into work on my book and now I am really glad that I am not going as I want a chance to concentrate.  When we have a "hunch" to do a thing is the time to do it.  I hope you still have a "hunch" to paint.

It was nice to hear all about your happy Christmas and to know that you were all well.  I love your letters, they are so chatty and make me feel that I am right there with you.  You are a
