Lulette dearest,

Jean is just the most wonderful little girl I ever knew; she wrote me the sweetest letter almost immediately after the baby arrived and she was so happy. It is lovely that the baby is named for you and I know how impatient you must be to see her. I hope you will be coming east this summer so that I may see you also. I am not sure just where I will be, but I will keep you informed, anyway.

Thank you for the book you sent me. It was sweet of you and I will return it as soon as I have finished it. I am anxious to know how you are getting on. It is splendid that you are able to do a little art work. I know it will help to make you well.
