Platysma muscles or Latissima Colli

Sterno cleido mastoid muscles

The Platysmas muscles or Latissima Colli their muscles arising in the skin of the under jaw in fascicula scattered over the cheek to the corners of the mouth from thence down the neck to the pectoral muscles, parting a little above the sternum and scattering in their fasescula over the Pectoral near half their breadth the muscles of the neck viz: the mastoid &c, with the clavicles appear through these muscles. Their use is to draw down the corners of the mouth:-

The Sterno-cleido - matoid muscles origin by two heads one on the Sternum and the other about an inch & ½ distant on the clavicle, running upward & outward are inserted in the mastoid process of the temporal bone behind the ear-

Their use, to [[strikethrough]] move [[/strikethrough]] turn the head to either side and bend it forward &c. 

(Observation) this muscle is seen at the root of the neck [[strikethrough]] meeting from [[/strikethrough]]
