me a check for my friend of four thousand francs and I was in heaven. When he went away, I brought him the check--he operated on his wife-he saved his wife, everything was all right. The Doctor went back to America. Ordinarily, he would come every six months and would write before from America, "I am coming such and such a day. Let's have lunch or dinner, or let's see each other, for a drink, or something. For a long time, I didn't have any news from him; and day day while I was working, the door was open and here was the Doctor. So, not telling me hello--nothing--he said, "You, Lipchitz, I shall never forgive you what you did to me." I didn't know, "Doctor, what I did to you?" He said, "Yes, you made me confound art and [Pholosophy - strikethrough] philanthropy--I shall never forgive you." He slammed the door, and I never saw him again.

Ablow: I think that Mr. Lipchitz has been very active for about an hour and three quarters, I don't know--I think we could let him now take a well-earned rest. I want to thank him very, very much for the great opportunity this has been. (Applause.)
