"Street Corner Hustler's Blues"
NORMAN PARISH

M.C. PRATT, Installations
An installation piece is a work of art which is created to occupy a space in time, and which becomes finite once it is dismantled.

Not unlike music, installation art evokes feelings of qualitative responses which live on after the immediate sensory experience has passed. It is artwork that can be revisited in this way, as opposed to the conventional museum experience.

Although usually impermanent, an installation piece can be moved or reinstalled in another avenue. Any subtle changes that may result only serve to contribute to the dynamics of the piece.

"Through this installation and related pieces, I have sought to reflect the lyrical, organic and elemental nature of Lou Rawl's music. The elements of time and imagination extracted from several songs served as the impetus for the works.
