Transcription Notes:
I used to sail! "H" column heading = hour of watch "K" column heading = knots (speed) "C" column heading = course or compass direction of boat's passage Baf'g - Baffling winds. The names in blue ink may be who is on watch. Some names were also written in pencil, but look erased. The first image had the name Edward Graves - he kept the book. So the last names of "Graves" makes sense. This book may have been in the family home, and some child was writing or drawing in the book. I see "William Graves" written on the transcription page 3, and "Reading class" is also written there. There are alignment problems and so much handwriting consistency that I surmise this is a log book that was copied out for the owners, not the original kept in real time.
