Mrs. Jacob Lawrence
4316 37th Avenue, N.E.
Seattle, Washington

Dear Mrs. Lawrence:

I am enclosing a copy of the letter written to your husband by Hans Bhalla in October. As I explained during our telephone conversation, Mr. Bhalla is now very ill and unable to follow through on these plans.

However, as acting chairman of the Art Department in his absence, I wish to pursue his stated plans. We are all eagerly looking forward to the possibility of showing Mr. Lawrence's work at Spelman during our founder's day exercises in April. We would be especially honored to have him visit with us at some time during the exhibition.

Please inform him and let us know how things stand.

Yours truly,

Jenelsie W. Holloway
