background information about Spelman College. Needless to say, Spelman will cover all of your expenses and your wife's. Our hope would be that you might arrive in Atlanta the evening before Commencement, May 16th, so that a small dinner might be held in your honor. Since we would appreciate your making a short speech following the receipt of your degree, we would also want to offer you an honorarium.

Again, it would bring great honor to Spelman College to be able to honor you in this way. I would hope to hear from you in this regard at your earliest convenience. All good wishes.
