Dear Terry:

We hope that all is going well, that you have had a good summer and looking forward to a most successful year. Gwen and I are now back in Seattle after a very hectic but rewarding summer. The Olympiade was great and likewise the many concerts and exhibitions which were scheduled in Munich this summer. As, with the many who attended, it was for us a most exciting experience up until the time of the tragedy.

Among other things this letter is to forward to the Gallery the exchange of correspondence between Mr. Baur and me in regards to the retrospective scheduled for May-June 1974 at the Whitney Museum. Of course, I am highly honored and looking forward to what we hope will be a very successful exhibition. We do hope that Carroll Greene has just about completed the monograph by now so that the book can go into production. Since the works for the book were gone over, I am hoping that Abrams and/or the Gallery has been forwarded our preferred choices in order that the tracing and photographing of these works can begin. We have not heard from Carroll since about the middle of June. At that time we worked with him on the book in Washington. I am in the dark as to its progress.

Last week, I called Mr. Hopkins of the State Museum in Washington, and he was pleased to learn of the progress of the George Washington Bush project. A committee from the State Museum will visit my studio soon to note this progress. I shall keep you informed.

Although I am involved in the Bush project, I do hope to get back to work on paintings for the Gallery.

Our regards and thanks to you and all at the Gallery for your interest and attention to these many things.

Fond regards,

P.S. Recieved painting from Berkeley. Thanks
