Dear Paul:

Please find enclosed correspondence to Carroll Greene re the monograph. Last week I spoke with Mrs. Dintenfass in regards to my misfortune with Carroll Greene. In appreciation of the problem, she suggested that I approach Mr. Charles Alan of the Dintenfass Gallery to do the monograph. It was my understanding that he would be willing to take on the project. I have known and been associated with Mr. Alan since about 1946. First with the Downtown Gallery, then with the Alan Gallery, and now with the Terry Dintenfass Gallery. The value in having him do the monograph is not only the respect that I have for him, but also the fact that he knows my work from over a period of years. I would feel most comfatable with him in this project.

I hope that all goes well and that you are having a good year.

Sincerely,
[Jacob Lawrence signature]
