November 29, 1963

Dear Eleanor;
Its about time I wrote and let you know about us,
We have traveled from the Arctic Circle to most of the contries in Europe and now we are in Italy. The two oldest girls are in school in France and we have settled in Florence. This winter and early spring we intend to visit Greece. I have a studio and things are going well. I've been in the studio about one month and have made about 8 or 9 things ready to be cast. I just now realize how Yale and its consuming politics interferred with my work and just last week I resigned to take a job at the University of Pennsylvania. All this is in hopes of finding some peace and quiet to work. By January I will want to cast some stuff and if you could advance me $1000.00 we can start to get this done.

A man by the name of JEREMIAH FORD III from
The office of Welton Becket contacted me and inquired about doing something for a High School in New York. I made them a model and they wanted to see photographs. I have referred them to the gallery. Well lets hear from you and I'll write again a more detailed letter of our
experience. Reguards to Allan

I may not make 100 things but it [[?]]
