Alma Thomas is, in addition to being an acknowledged major American artist, an extraordinarily rare human being. Of the many artists I have known only Jacob Kaimen and Bill DeKooning have that same rare quality of warmth, generosuity and large spirit she has. And with her advanced age, I am interested in trying to get for her as much recognition as possible while she is with us.

This matter, of course, has been discussed with Miss Thomas in detail and you have our assurance there is no conflict of interest with the existing committments with the Maratha Jackson Gallery.

My warmest regards to AI Lerner. Let me know your reaction,

Sincerely,
Vincent
