TAMARIND LITHOGRAPHY WORKSHOP, INC. 1112 N. Tamarind Avenue, Los Angeles 38, California

July 19, 1963

Dear Louise,

A short note only, for how can I tell you the constant delight of the drawings? (You know how much I like the print.)

I have always felt the colored drawing to be an intensely poetic statement, and yesterday, suddenly, from the submerged landscape that memory is, came the poet's line (who?) .. "Life is an old casino in the park." And it fits it beautifully. As for the black and white drawing, it is a wonderfully vibrant intellectual exercise and, therefore, always pure joy, barely tinged with emotion.

I, of course, should thank you, but I cannot help envying you for being able to give so much pleasure.

Much love,
