Miss Sue S. White,
2617 Woodley Place,
Washington, D. C.

Dear Miss White:

Your letter of November 30th was given to me by the President of the Academy for investigation.

I regret to have to say that it has not been possible to find any trace of the canvas by Beckwith which you described to me in Washington. It is regrettable that there is as a rule so great a lack of systematic records of the works of artists-largely their own fault. I can say this because I have a very carefully kept book recording all my pictures and what has become of them.

Very sincerely yours,

Charles C. Curran
Secretary
