So we abandoned of trip and shortly after Charlie returned home and I was intending to follow him as soon as I had gained a little more strength and the weather became slightly warm- Charlie left me on the 14th ult I have since been out twice on pleasant days and last evening Father called his business has required his presence here and he is at the Metropol He was glad to see me as I was to see him and our indebtedness to Uncle and Aunty I fear I shall never be able to repay. Dr Blakeman did more for me than any physician I ever had before but without the nursing and care of Aunty I fear I should be in my bed today. I have had constantly such good letters from home that this helped me to be cheerful though I have not infrequently been more depressed than I would like to own since I have been sick. At the Academy - where I have undoubtedly overworked - there was a slight feeling of rivalry among the more industrious class of scholars and as the classes in Anatomy - Perspective - and Life were in the middle of their terms I was naturally much cast down by having to leave them with no prospect of being able to catch up.
